An Expressive Real-Time CCS
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper describes a new ‘real-time’ process algebra that exhibits the advantages of both the ‘constraint-oriented’ and ‘marker variable’ specification styles. Its definition extends CCS, firstly with a basic notion of absolute time added to actions, and then with relative timing expressions which may refer to time markers.

A Simple Expressive Real Time CCS
We describe a new real time process algebra with simple semantics but consider able expressive power It exhibits the advantages of both the constraint oriented and marker variable speci cation styles The de nition extends Milner s CCS rstly with a simple notion of absolute time added to actions and then with relative timing expressions which may refer to time markers
متن کاملA constraint-oriented real-time process calculus
A real-time extension of ccs is described, based on true concurrency semantics and a determination to make composition the sole arbiter of real-time behaviour. The resultant calculus has a simple definition, encourages constraint-oriented specification and exhibits considerable expressive power.
متن کاملA Note on Scope and Infinite Behaviour in CCS-like Calculi
The study of concurrency is often conducted with the aid of process calculi. These calculi treat processes much like the -calculus treats computable functions. They provide a language in which the structure of terms represents the structure of processes together with an operational semantics to represent computational steps. Undoubtedly Milner’s CCS [4], a calculus for the modeling and analysis...
متن کاملOn the Expressive Power of Restriction and Priorities in CCS with Replication
We study the expressive power of restriction and its interplay with replication. We do this by considering several syntactic variants of CCS! (CCS with replication instead of recursion) which differ from each other in the use of restriction with respect to replication. We consider three syntactic variations of CCS! which do not allow the use of an unbounded number of restrictions: CCS−!ν ! is t...
متن کاملParallel Object-Oriented Specification Language
The Parallel Object-Oriented Specification Language (POOSL) is an expressive modelling language for hardware/software systems [10]. It was originally defined in [7] as an object-oriented extension of process algebra CCS [6], supporting (conditional) synchronous message passing between (hierarchically structured) asynchronous concurrent processes. Meanwhile, POOSL has been extended with real-tim...
